-----Russ Burgess, owner and managing partner of Laser Text Display (LTD) LLC, has developed a new class of electronic display technology by combining existing technology into a new configuration. Utilizing the vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) developed at Sandia National Laboratory, and grayscale lithography for optics, a new electronic display technology was created. By building the micro-optoelectronic chip in alphanumeric defined segment patterns and defined output beam segment shape will project alphanumeric information onto any suitable surface that will reflect brilliant laser light of various wavelengths (colors). Projected shaped images can be used for international symbols or for various instrumentation applications. LTD is seeking licensing opportunities in various markets, applications, consumer products and geographic areas. LTD technology has US patent and PCT pending status.----
-Visible and invisible light may be used for information dissemination. Infrared applications will work in conjunction with night vision equipment and UV lasers will work with photo emissive surface coatings. LTD will be the first technology application to take full advantage of state of the art VCSEL technology and future VCSEL development. LTD will also take advantage of state of the art grayscale lithography in the micron scale.
-----LTD will take full advantage of ALL intrinsic VCSEL manufacturing processes and technique, which gives VCSEL technology a decided advantage over edge emitting lasers. Edge emitting lasers could not possibly be utilized without severe cost penalties. LTD will be the first application where VCSEL technology can be fully exploited for the long term.
-----LTD can be used as stand-alone wireless projection units or as a combined system. The projected image may be dynamic (scrolling) in appearance and similar to current light emitting diode display systems, but without the cumbersome display housing. As an example, a digital clock chip in LTD form factor size may be ½ millimeter by 2 millimeters and project to a distance of 20 to 30 feet and produce a very readable image of 4 to 6 inches in height by approximately 12 to 18 inches in length.
Mission:
To offer visual information dissemination solutions based on laser technology at low cost, high reliability, and optimal utilization of available space.Vision:
Laser Text Display LLC will be the most recognizable, pervasive and economical display technology in the world.-----Laser Text Display technology licensing program will provide an unprecedented diversification opportunity for VCSEL laser manufactures, grayscale opto-lithography companies, electronic consumer devices and electronic display companies. The electronic display market for the US is about $30 billion and approximately $130 billion for world markets and growing.
